Sharing an AI duet: likeness, music and disclosure
A practical checklist for permission, original audio and transparent sharing of synthetic performance videos.
58TH FLOOR AI EDITORIAL · NOVEMBER 5, 2026
Get permission for the likeness and image
Both the depicted person and the photograph may involve rights. Use your own photos or material you have permission to use, featuring consenting adults. Our rules prohibit minors and public figures as generation subjects.
Treat music as a separate permission
An AI model or template does not automatically grant rights to a recording or composition. Use original or licensed audio. Platform music libraries have their own conditions, particularly for branded and commercial content.
Label synthetic media clearly
When you publish a generated performance, keep an AI-generated disclosure visible and follow the destination platform’s synthetic-media labeling requirements. Do not present a fictional performance as a real event or endorsement.
Review the result before sharing
Check the complete clip for identity mix-ups, unintended gestures and confusing context. Do not use a duet for harassment, fraud, sexual content or deceptive claims.
